Shauna Snyder grew up in rural WV and moved an hour north of Nashville, TN 21 years ago. She has been a licensed school counselor in TN since 2012 and now is an ALC virtually serving the state of Alabama. She holds a Master of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and completed additional coursework towards an ESL Certificate from Austin Peay State University. She was previously married to a native Spanish speaker from Mexico and has moderate fluency in Spanish and years of experience working with Spanish speakers and translators in sessions. She is LGBTQ+ accepting. Ms. Snyder is committed to ongoing professional development in getting certified in trauma-informed methods such as: Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Trauma Informed-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Her experience includes supporting clients through domestic violence, grief of all types, addiction, ADHD, autism, neurodivergent, sexual assault/childhood sexual assault, suicidal ideation, major life transitions, gender exploration/transition, eating disorders, religious trauma/exploration, individual counseling, disability advocacy, couple counseling etc. She is available after 4pm and on weekends. Services will include: support groups, individual counseling, couples counseling, family sessions. She is credentialed through Medicaid. Most sessions will be virtual, but there will be opportunities to see her in person throughout the year as well. She is accepting of all walks of life and believes every client is the expert in their stories as she is there to help guide and support unconditionally.
